Linda Arreola: Architect of the Abstract

In Linda Arreola: Architect of the Abstract, a film by Eric Minh Swenson, the artist gives a walk through of her solo exhibition Architect of the Abstract curated by William Moreno at VPAM (February 27 – May 16, 2016). Arreola explains her influences ranging from architecture, cosmology, and spirituality, and the techniques she uses such as grid work and geometric form. The exhibition is a survey from 2005 to 2016, spanning distinct phases in the artist’s practice, and touches upon concepts underlying her abstracted works, such as language, mythology and personal narrative.
